The Oxnard Childrens Dental Group has gathered together a team of dentists and clinical assistants whose focus is entirely on their small patients. So while you appreciate the training and experience of the space station crew, it's their gentle combination of enthusiasm, patience and reassurance to which your children respond.
Catherine Chien, DDS
After receiving her B.A. from UCSD, her dental education at UCLA, and her pediatric resident training at the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Catherine Chien has finally returned home to Ventura County. Since Dr. Chien has become a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, she has been providing clinical instruction at UCLA's School of Dentistry. When she takes a break from running and playing with her two dogs, Dr. Chien enjoys volunteering for Camp Laurel and working as a Board member for the Boys and Girls Club of Oxnard and Port Hueneme.
Betsy Kaplan, DMD
Dr. Betsy Kaplan is originally from Waterford, Connecticut. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Boston University and her Dental Degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. She completed a General Practice Residency at the Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center in Long Beach and received her Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry at UCLA. Dr. Betsy lives in Thousand Oaks with her family. They love to work in their organic vegetable gardens, enjoy cooking and baking, and are always looking forward to their next trip to Boston to watch their beloved Boston Red Sox play at Fenway Park!
Eddie Lopez, DDS
Dr. Eddie Lopez's love of kids is what inspired him to become a pediatric dentist. While in dental school at Loma Linda University, he had the extraordinary opportunity to provide dental care for less fortunate kids throughout the world. That's when he realized the need to combine his love for kids with his love of dentistry. He stayed at Loma Linda to complete his specialty training in pediatric dentistry and now serves on the faculty as well. Dr. Eddie is excited to be back in his home town of Oxnard where he spends time with his wife and dogs. He is fluent in Spanish, is a licensed private pilot, and enjoys "hanging ten" off the end of his surfboard all over the Ventura County coastline.
Lynn Wan, DDS
Dr. Lynn Wan grew up in Ventura County and returned to serve the community that she loves. She received her dental degree at UC San Francisco and completed her pediatric dentistry residency at UCLA. Dedicated to helping children, she received a merit award from the American Society of Dentistry for Children. She continues her life-long learning, completing leadership workshops and the American Dental Association/Kellogg School Executive Management Program at Northwestern University. Dr. Lynn enjoys exploring the world with her husband, Gil. A yoga student and lover of all living things, she seeks global and inner peace.
